Smitty thinks Nucky is a very strange name.

Jazmin, I looked up the Boardwalk Empire show on the Google
and it is only on pay TV, on the HBO network, which I don’t get.
Would you please send me a videotape of the show so I can watch?
(I’d prefer if it doesn’t have any profane language or nudity.)
Thank you very much. Wilma Friedmutter

Hello Wilma! Thanks so much for reading and thank you for leaving a comment. Unfortunately, I don’t have any tapes of Boardwalk Empire. Plus, the show does contain some profanity and brief nudity, which more sensitive viewers may find offensive. If you’re still interested in the show, I’m sure it will eventually be released on DVD.
Thank you, young lady. I don’t have a DVD because I can’t find a DVD camera to take home movies of my grandkids. I guess I’ll have to wait for Boardwalk Empire to come on regular TV (and maybe they’ll take out the profanity and nudity). The show sounds good, and I like nostalgic shows about the 1920s and 1930s (A woman shouldn’t reveal her age but I was born in the 1930s).
Maybe I should buy a DVD. What do you think, Jazmin? How much are they? I am a retiree (actually, my late husband was a retiree — I worked as a young woman and was a homemaker for my children). I don’t have a lot of money to spend but maybe a DVD would be a good buy. I would have to get my neighbor, Mr. Matthews, to connect it to my TV for me. He’s a nice man but I don’t want to bother him too much. He cuts my grass but I worry he’ll have a heart attack so I tell him not to but he cuts it anyway. I think he’s almost 79 years old. The weather is cold for Florida this weekend but I guess that makes it feel more like Christmas. Before Bill and I retired to Fort Myers we lived in Columbus, Ohio. He was an insurance man for State Farm. He died in 1993. I miss him terribly, but my two girls and their kids (five grandkids, all girls!) come to visit often. My oldest daughter Cindy lives in Miami and my youngest Teri lives in Atlanta with her husband and three daughters. I don’t know why I’m telling you all this but you seem so nice. Before I forget, I hope you have a Merry Christmas. Thank you again for your World Wide Web posts.

Hello again, Mrs. Friedmutter! You’re very welcome. How was your Christmas? Sorry it took me awhile to respond to your kind comments. I was in CA celebrating Christmas with my own family, including our little one-and-a-half-year-old niece who made the holiday extra fun.
I’m sorry to hear about your husband’s passing, but it sounds like you have a truly lovely family. If you’d like to take family movies, I recommend buying a good digital camera (like one of these). If your daughters or sons-in-law are more technologically inclined, maybe they can help you get it all set up? I regularly help my Mom with tech stuff — she generally finds a lot of it confusing, but with a little work and practice, she’s become a whiz with her digital camera and blog.
As for the DVD player, I would recommend purchasing one if you like to watch movies. The nice thing is that they’ve really come down in price over the years, so you should be able to find one for as low as $20 (at places like Walmart or Target).
I hope that helps — and I hope that you have a very Happy New Year!
Thank you, dear, for responding to my question.
I was thinking about you the other day when I was at the mall. I asked at Dillard’s about DVD players but the young man said I should go to a store he called, I think, Best Bye Bye. I will follow your advice and go to the Target instead. Thank you, sweetie.
Your niece sounds precious. Do you plan to put her picture on your World Wide Web address? I am glad your holiday was fun.
I hope you have a happy New Year too. It’s like you are my new pen pal!

I think you are a very nice lady, Mrs. Friedmutter. Happy New Year from me and all of the other turkeys.

Nucky Thompson is weird looking. He’s a good actor, for a human, but I find it strange watching actors with no feathers.
